Bushcraft

Jon making fire using the traditional Bow and Drill methodWith the art of bushcraft and outdoor survival as our core interest, we have developed products that are robust and reliable to ensure that they comfortably live up to the job they are designed for.
They are thoroughly field-tested by ourselves and experienced bushcraft instructors before they are offered for sale.

We are very pleased to be working closely with Jon Pratchett who owns and runs
'Bushcrafters.com'
Jon has many years experience in bushcraft and survival skills and has mastered the many traditional tools and methods that are still the heart of today's bushcraft.

The Woodland

Jon's bushcraft sessions are held in East Wiltshire in 40 acres of beautiful ancient deciduous woodland, which is ideally suited for the perfect bushcraft and team building experience.

The woodland holds an array of wildlife including deer, badgers, owls, woodpeckers and many other wild birds. Coarse fishing can also be enjoyed on site by prior arrangement.

A guided walk through the wood will introduce you to many trees, plants and fungi that can be used for food, medicinal and welfare purposes.

Spoons carved by Jon from Hazel and Beech wood using The Woodland Edge Bushcraft KnifeSkills include: making fires with the bow drill, flint & steel and the Swedish fire steel; making nettle cordage and learning where to use it; Bushcraft knifes, their uses and safety; campfires and how to build them; what wood should be used on the fire for different purposes.
You can also learn where to find the best fire lighting tinder, even when wet.

Plus much more........

They are great fun, very informative and held in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.
